Purpose of my research-
It will be about the influence of Gnosticism from the 15th to the 21st century. In my research it will explain what, and gnosticism influenced from the 15th to the 21st.
Reason For My Research:
Gnosticism has been more relevant in at least the last 500 hundred years, and it could be argue that it has been relevant longer than five hundred years.
Gonzalez’s revised and updated version of “The Story of Christianity: Volume 2-The Reformation to the Present Day” presents Gnosticism like it was a trend in the 20th century. There are at least two reasons why Gonzalez may present Gnosticism like a trend, as if it was like bell bottom jeans that were popular for a while like they were in the 70s. One reason is that study of history has a lot of information that makes it complex, and it is a challenge to present all areas of it. Gonzalez’s main focus of his was church history from Reformation to present day. He may have not focus a lot on the cults, or he does not know a lot about them. Another reason that Gonzalez presented Gnosticism the way he did in his book was that he wanted it publish by ?, and that maybe one of the reasons why he presented Gnosticism as a fad. The publishing company that publish his text book is owned by News Corporation, and that is owned by Rupert Murdoch. His company owns media companies like Fox, a British, and Chinese News outlet. Murdoch could be a gnostic, because one of the things that Gnostic groups like to control is the media.
